Our friends and supporters who donate their time and talents play an essential role in our efforts to end homelessness. We are grateful to be joined by more than 5,000 volunteers every year, ranging from corporate, civic and faith-based organizations to individuals and groups of friends and families. Volunteer opportunities are available at our shelter and housing locations throughout Greater Boston.
To Our Dedicated Volunteers
Pine Street Inn is grateful for the support of our volunteers, 365 days a year. We are also concerned for everyone’s health and safety. Given continued restrictions due to COVID-19, we are limiting all onsite volunteer activities until further notice. Please continue to visit this page for updates as we prepare to welcome back volunteers safely to our Pine Street locations. In the meantime, we are offering several remote volunteer opportunities, listed below.
Our thanks for your continued interest and service. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org with questions.
Assemble bags for our Street Outreach team to distribute to individuals on the street. We will provide a list of seasonal items to include.
Host a gift card drive for individuals we support through Street Outreach. Gift cards can be in the $5-15 range and we’ll provide a list of preferred cards.
Every week our staff are working with guests to help them move into housing. Support newly housed tenants by providing a laundry basket filled with a variety of home necessities. We are happy to share a list of needed items.
Everybody can be great, because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve. You don’t have to know the second theory of thermodynamics in physics to serve. You only need a heart full of grace, and a soul generated by love.- Martin Luther King Jr.
