Emergency Shelter: What to know
· Triage hours are every day, 10:00 am – 6:30 pm, by phone.
· Triage staff will assess your needs and have a list of resources in an attempt to resolve your immediate crisis.
If you are new to emergency shelter, or are returning after some time away, you will meet with a member of Pine Street’s Triage team to assess what can be done to immediately or very quickly resolve your need for shelter. Please note:
- Beds are assigned daily, based upon availability.
- There is no sobriety requirement (except at Holy Family Shelter), though alcohol, drugs and drug paraphernalia are not permitted on the premises.
- Guests must be able to provide basic self-care.
- Guests are allowed a limited amount of personal belongings, which must fit into a small locker.
- Pine Street emergency shelters are for adult individuals (age 18 and over); there are no specific services for young adults.
- Pine Street Inn’s shelters have been selected as a Best Practice for Equal Access by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. Pine Street welcomes guests of all gender identities in its shelters. Guests are not required to identify gender.
