Emily Ahman-Gamble — Supporting Others

Emily Ahman-Gamble, a supervisor on the housing clinical services team, joined Pine Street in 2022. Emily spent much of her childhood in New England and Maryland before returning to Boston to complete a Master of Social Work degree at Simmons University. Inspired by her mother, a longtime social worker, Emily felt a natural pull toward the field.

“I was drawn to the human connection of social work,” Emily says. “My team provides crisis intervention and clinical assessments for tenants, working with them to create stability. That can mean helping someone access therapy, connect with a recovery coach or navigate a difficult moment.”

While the work can be challenging, Emily is proud of the relationships her team builds with tenants and staff. “We’re always happy to consult with housing staff, not just for tenant support, but also for staff support. We all want the same thing — for people to stay housed and healthy.”

For Emily, the best part of the job is working with her team. “Everyone is so dedicated and authentic. Each person brings something unique to the team. We really rely on each other.”

Emily says, “When someone feels secure and supported after going through a crisis, that makes it all worthwhile.”
