SCHEDULE: 24 hours, Saturday 8:00am - 4:30pm & Sunday 8:00am - 12:30am

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Housing Support Worker Weekend Counselor will be responsible for providing day to day support to individuals living in a residence for adults with mental illness.   The incumbent will oversee the safety of the residents and the cleanliness of the residence.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to be certified in Medication Administration, First Aid and CPR within 90 days of employment
• Minimum of one (1) year direct care experience providing services to adults with mental illness or related population
• Proficiency in Microsoft word and basic computer functions
• Demonstrated professional communication and organizational skills
• Demonstrated expertise in developing and writing documentation according to required standards
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a culturally diverse population of clients, other care providers, family and community members
• Frequent bending, stooping, stretching and standing for extended periods of time
• Ability to climb stairs
• Ability to shovel snow
• Ability to lift bags of trash (20 lbs)
