We are grateful for the ongoing interest and engagement from our volunteers and supporters. We are currently unable to offer our regular on-site volunteer activities but have alternative service opportunities listed below. If you are planning a team project we are happy to join your group virtually for a program and overview. Thank you for supporting our guests and tenants!
Street Outreach Bags
Assemble bags for our Street Outreach team to distribute to individuals on the street year round. We will provide a list of seasonal items to include.
Gift Card Drive
Host a gift card drive for individuals we support through Street Outreach. Gift cards can be in the $5-15 range and we’ll provide a list of preferred vendors.
Welcome Home Baskets
Every week our staff are working with guests to help them move into housing. Support newly housed tenants by providing a laundry basket filled with a variety of home necessities. We are happy to share a list of needed items.
Pantry In a Box Drive
Over 850 tenants live in Pine Street Inn’s permanent supportive housing. “Pantry in a Box” helps meet a tenant’s emergency food needs, providing much needed support. We will provide a list of 15 needed items and you can package them up in a box or enclosed bag for our tenants. Please plan to package at least 5 individually packed boxes of pantry items.
Snacks for Guests
Provide individually pre-packaged snacks which will be distributed throughout our Shelter and Street Outreach programs.
Boredom Buster Bags
Boredom Buster Bags are ideal for our shelter guests and tenants in housing and can include puzzle books, adult coloring books, colored pencils, playing cards, and snacks. You can get creative and include a personalized card for each bag. Please review items with our team before you assemble the bags.
Dessert Night
Baked goods are always welcome and a special treat for our shelter guests! Baked or store-bought desserts such as cookies, cupcakes, or brownies are great. Items must be individually portioned and packaged. Between 75 and 125 portions are ideal.
Sponsor a Meal for Our Shelter Guests
– Help us meet the basic needs of our guests with healthy, nutritious meals. Cover the cost of a meal (ranging from $500 – $1,500 depending on the location) at our emergency shelters. Additional options include providing a special menu or an additional meal item.
– Order a catered lunch and have it delivered to our guests! We are happy to provide a list of restaurants and meal options which can include box lunches, pizza, salads or sandwiches. Our guests enjoy this special lunchtime treat.
Send Cheer and Good Wishes to Our Tenants
We’ll provide you with the first names of tenants in one of our 35 housing sites for this special opportunity. You can assemble gift bags or care packages for the house. Tenant numbers range from 20-55 tenants. This is a great way to connect with and support our tenants.
