Justice LaForest — Triage Supervisor
Justice LaForest is Pine Street’s triage supervisor, focusing on finding alternatives to shelter for guests, “Shelter is not a home. We provide resources for our guests while focusing on their pathway to housing.”
Justice also co-chairs the LGBTQIA+ Employee Resource Group (ERG) at Pine Street, a team working toward more inclusive care and support for LGBTQIA+ guests, trainees, tenants and staff.
“I am part of the LGBTQIA+ community myself,” she says. “Being a leader for the ERG is especially important to me because of the voice and privilege I have in my role. And I am proud to be part of an organization that is committed to providing a welcoming place for everyone.”
Currently, the ERG is finalizing a best practices guide for Pine Street’s LGBTQIA+ community. They are also working on a list of all LGBTQIA+ resources in Greater Boston.
“We advocate for those who cannot advocate for themselves,” Justice says. “The work we’re doing on the ERG is building a more inclusive and stronger organization.”
