How will the next Mayor of Boston address homelessness?
On Wednesday, July 28, 2021, Pine Street Inn and the Boston Coalition for Homeless Individuals hosted a virtual forum with the candidates for Boston mayor, focused on homelessness and housing.
Homelessness is a challenging issue, especially in a high cost city like Boston – but it is solvable. The forum was moderated by Marcela Garcia, Op-ed Columnist and Editorial Member of The Boston Globe. Candidates had an opportunity to present their platforms and to answer questions on how they intend to address homelessness, which connects not only to housing, but to healthcare, employment and issues of equity.
Thank you to John Barros, Andrea J. Campbell, Annissa Essaibi-George, Kim Janey and Michelle Wu for participating. The event was presented by the Boston Coalition for Homeless Individuals: Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program, Pine Street Inn, Project Place, St. Francis House, Boston, Bridge Over Troubled Waters, Downtown Boston, Newmarket Business Association, Rosie's Place and Women's Lunch Place.
