"5 Fixer Upper" Renovation Complete at Yearwood House

Celebrating the completion of the "5 Fixer Uper" Renovation

The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place on Monday, October 28, 2019, hosted by WCVB President & General Manager Bill Fine and Pine Street Inn President & Executive Director Lyndia Downie.

"5 Fixer Upper" Renovation

WCVB Channel 5 is Pine Street Inn's Media Partner as Pine Street marks 50 years in the community. As part of the partnership, Channel 5 led a "5 Fixer Upper" makeover of Pine Street's Yearwood House.

The makeover provides fresh, comfortable living quarters for the 22 tenants who reside at Yearwood House. This included the complete renovation of three kitchens, multiple baths, and a refresher of the common areas with fresh paint and new furniture.

Thank you to WCVB and WCVB advertisers for your generosity!

Several of WCVB’s community-minded advertisers generously donated their products and services to make this transformation a reality. This project was made possible by the generosity of the following vendors/partners:

  • Norfolk Kitchen and Bath
  • Bath Fitter
  • KAM Appliances
  • Capital Carpet and Flooring
  • 1-800-GOT-JUNK
  • Bernie & Phyl’s Furniture

About Pine Street Inn's Yearwood House

First opened in 2006, the Yearwood House residence is a partnership of Pine Street Inn and Trinity Church. The building is named in honor of Trinity verger Bob Yearwood and his 30+ years of ministry to homeless men and women in Copley Square. Trinity Church, a long-time supporter of Pine Street, made a significant gift to help purchase 459 Park Drive. Parishioners raised additional monies to purchase furnishings and house wares and have supported tenants through ongoing volunteer activities.
