Because most of our volunteer opportunities are geared toward groups, we offer limited volunteer opportunities for individuals. These also involve a closer level of guest interaction, so we require these three steps:
Chatting via telephone will give you a chance to learn more about volunteer opportunities, and whether we are the right fit for you. Once this step is complete, we will invite you to fill out a Volunteer Application. Call us at 617.892.9184 to speak with someone from our team.
Download, print and return a Volunteer Application & CORI Form. Include a photocopy of a state-issued photo ID with your CORI Form. We cannot process your application if it is incomplete.
Send your forms via email, fax or postal mail to:
Pine Street Inn | Volunteer Programs
444 Harrison Avenue | Boston, MA 02118
All prospective volunteers are required to attend an orientation session where they will learn more about Pine Street Inn and review volunteer policies and opportunities. Once your application and CORI have been processed, we will reach out to you about upcoming orientation dates.
Please note that during the busy holiday months we are not able to respond and place individual volunteers immediately; we appreciate your patience with our application process.
If you need to complete community or court-ordered service you must contact our office first and review our CORI requirements.
Help serve breakfast any day of the week. Breakfast servers are needed from 6-7 a.m. at our emergency shelter in Boston's South End.
Do you live or work near Pine Street Inn? Are you available in the evenings? Occasionally, we need last-minute help for dinner service and reach out to our fill-in volunteers for extra support.
The health clinic at Pine Street is in need of friendly and outgoing volunteers to greet guests in our men's clinic. Volunteers must commit to a regular schedule for this opportunity. Morning and evening hours are available every day of the week.
Help our team deliver prepared foods to our locations across the city. Volunteers must be able to lift 30-50 pounds. Morning and afternoon shifts are available every day of the week.
