Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month
Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month is observed in the United States during the month of May. The month recognizes the contributions of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders to the history, culture and achievements of the United States.
AAPI Month was first designated by Congress as a week in 1978, but was extended to a month-long observance in 1990. To help honor, celebrate and acknowledge AAPI Heritage Month, we have put together a list of events for you to attend, books to read, local businesses for you to visit and other resources.
