IMPACT Employment Services


IMPACT supports more than 600 men and women each year in their efforts to secure, retain and upgrade a job. Our staff carefully screens each candidate, assessing their skills and workplace readiness. On average, IMPACT clients earn $11.56 per hour. 

IMPACT Employment Services


IMPACT provides:

  • Specialized employment counseling and career coaching
  • Job search assistance
  • Workplace skill development, including basic and advanced computer proficiency training
  • Job training referrals
  • Job retention and career advancement support
  • Support services (email, voice mail, P.O.  box, clothing and transportation assistance)
  • WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certification, a standardized job skills assessment system that helps employers select, hire, train, develop, and retain a high-performance workforce.


IMPACT is recognized as a Best Practice in Employment Services by the National Alliance to End Homelessness.




IMPACT offers specialized employment counseling and services to homeless men and women of all ages. Our WorkFirst program also offers services to clients housed in Pine Street’s housing programs. 
To apply, ask your case manager to complete the referral form (and the homeless verification form if you are staying in any of the City of Boston’s shelters, on the street, or in transitional housing); and come to our office with the forms at 10:30 a.m. on any weekday.   
In addition to employment counseling and career resources, IMPACT provides access to computers and other technology to assist with your job search.  Seminars, special presentations and volunteers offer further guidance to help you achieve your employment goals. 


Partnering with Pine Street’s IMPACT Employment Services provides you with trained, ready-to-work staff, and at the same time, affords an opportunity for homeless and newly-housed men and women to successfully transition back into the workforce. 
After candidates are placed, we provide ongoing support to both candidate and employer for a minimum of six months.
