More about our Keynote Speaker

Reverend Liz Walker is a Pastor of Roxbury Presbyterian Church, a dynamic faith community. Reverend Walker’s calling as a minister is part of a journey which includes 11 years of humanitarian work in the Sudan and 21 years as Boston’s first African-American news anchor on WBZ-TV. Her 31-year television news career resulted in two Emmys and an Edward R. Murrow Award.
In 2001, Walker traveled to Sudan as a reporter on a fact-finding mission on the controversial slave trade. While there, she facilitated healing conversations among women from competing tribes and ethnicities in war-torn regions that have never known peace, and produced a number of television reports about Sudan. A graduate of Harvard Divinity School, Reverend Walker has long been involved in many community organizations and projects.
