Karen Albrand
Karen Albrand studied music at Berklee College of Music and received a degree in education from the University of Massachusetts. A former Pine Street Inn guest, Ms. Albrand worked very hard in the inn's transitional housing program and with the help of her job counselors, she pulled through a difficult time in her life. Ms. Albrand brings this unique insight to the board and believes that without the vision of Pine Street Inn founder Paul Sullivan, her path in life would be quite different. |

Mary Jo Bane, Chair
Mary Jo Bane is a professor of public policy at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. She teaches and does research in the areas of public management, poverty, welfare, and social policy. Ms. Bane was assistant secretary for families and children in the federal Department of Health and Human Services from 1993 to 1996. Before going to HHS, Ms. Bane was the Commissioner of the New York State Department of Social Services. She is
the author of numerous books and articles on poverty, education, families
and welfare.

Gaye Bok
Gaye Bok has lived in her downtown Boston neighborhood, Bay Village, for more than 20 years. A former president of the Bay Village Neighborhood Association, Ms. Bok is excited to be a part of Pine Street Inn’s vision for providing permanent, supportive homes to its guests. Ms. Bok is director of business development for Synthetic Genomics, Inc., a life sciences company targeting bio-energy applications. She has more than ten years of experience in managing global, cross-functional product development and strategic planning. Ms. Bok has an extensive background in evaluating new business opportunities and assisting start-up companies. |

Corinne Ferguson, Vice Chair
Corinne Ferguson is a native of London, England where she volunteered as a music teacher at a local public school, studied garden design and was a trustee of a private park. Since moving to the United States in 1996, Ms. Ferguson has become increasingly involved as a community volunteer. She is currently a board member of The Winsor School and the Brookline Music School. She is also passionate about youth service and is an active volunteer at City Year, both domestically and internationally. |

Thomas P. Glynn
Thomas Glynn is the chief operating officer of Partners HealthCare System, where he is responsible for the daily management of functional departments within Partners, including finance, information systems, human resources, legal affairs, treasury, real estate, marketing, communications, and community benefits. His health care experience includes the chairmanship of the Mayor's Health Care Commission in Boston, five years as Massachusetts deputy welfare commissioner overseeing the Medicaid program, and two years with a health care consulting firm. |

Jerome J. Jacobs
Jerry Jacobs is chief investment officer of Argent Wealth Management. His primary responsibilities include investment strategy, asset allocation and investment manager selection. Jacobs has over 25 years of investment experience, most recently as the senior investment strategist of Putnam Investments. He has served as a member of Pine Street Inn’s Investment committee for since 2002. He also serves as a board member of Career Collaborative and as a member of the Investment Committee for the Inner City Scholarship Foundation. |

Monsignor Francis H. Kelley
Monsignor Kelley has been a part of the inn from its very beginning. As a member of the Association of Boston Urban Priests, he was one of the original incorporators and worked closely with Pine Street founder Paul Sullivan. He has provided continuity of leadership and vision for the past thirty years. Msgr. Kelley sees his involvement with the inn as both a living out of the gospel and a contribution to the works of peace and justice. He feels the basic rights of shelter, safety, food and medical care must be the core of the inn's programs, followed by the development of housing specific to the needs of the inn's guests. |

Sister Margaret Leonard
Sister Margaret Leonard believes that the priorities of the inn must be quality programming for people who are on the street, and the creation of public policies that lessen the growth in homelessness. Sr. Leonard values highly the commitment of the inn's staff. She is a member of an international congregation called Little Sisters of the Assumption, who live and work with families living in poverty in 26 countries of the world. Sr. Leonard lives in North Dorchester/Roxbury and directs Project Hope, a neighborhood-based organization, which moves families out of poverty through a continuum of family supports. |

Robert Lewis, Jr.
A lifelong and proud resident of the City of Boston, Robert Lewis is known for his life-long commitment to the community and social justice. As president and executive director of the National Conference for Community and Justice (NCCJ) Greater Boston Region, he has sought to promote understanding and respect among all races, religions, and cultures by fighting issues of bias, bigotry, racism, and hate. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Boston Renaissance Charter School, Topf Center for Dance Education - Advisory Committee, Boston Private Industry Council - Community Advisory Committee, The Governors Task Force on Hate Crimes, and The South End Youth Baseball Program. He resides in Boston with his wife Nayda and two children Vanessa and Stephen.

Christopher Mansfield, Clerk
Christopher Mansfield's legal and business expertise is an important addition to the inn's board. He is currently senior vice president and general counsel of Liberty Mutual Insurance Company. Among his current commitments, Mr. Mansfield serves on the Standing Committee on Elections for the American Bar Association, as a director for the New England Legal Foundation and as an elected trustee of the Trust Fund Commission for the Town of Dedham. He also serves as director of Liberty Mutual Insurance Company and Employers Insurance Company of Wausau as well as actively participating in several professional associations. |

David W. Manzo
David Manzo joined the Board of Directors in 1988 and served as chair of the board from 2001 to 2005. His involvement with the inn, however, goes back to 1976. It begins with his volunteering in the lobby of the original Pine Street where he had the opportunity to spend time with inn founder Paul Sullivan. He worked and lived at Haley House in the South End from 1977 to 1980 and was the Haley House Board Chair from 1981 to 1991. Mr. Manzo comes to us with a wealth of experience in the non-profit world. He offers perspectives from his past experiences on the boards of Haley House and Victory Programs and as the present Executive Director of COMPASS. |

John H. McCarthy
Jack McCarthy became a principal at Harvard University’s Hauser Center for Nonprofit Organizations and an adjunct lecturer at the Kennedy School of Government in October 2005. McCarthy joined the faculty after retiring from a 37-year career with PricewaterhouseCoopers where he most recently served as the Global Practice Leader for Education. He was the senior partner of the U.S. Education and Nonprofit Practice from 1998 to 2004. He has published extensively in his field, including co-authoring the Financial and Accounting Guide for Not-for-Profit Organizations and Understanding Financial Statements.

Christopher J. McKown
Christopher McKown serves as president of Health Dialog Services Corporation, which he co-founded in 1996. Health Dialog is a leader in providing evidence-based medical information and decision support to patients. He is also treasurer of the Friends of the Boston Night Center; a director of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston; an overseer of WGBH; and a member of the Director's Advisory Board at the Arnold Arboretum. |

Kay Whelan O'Halloran, Assistant Clerk
Kay O'Halloran became involved as the inn's first volunteer food group coordinator on Thanksgiving Day in 1971. At that time, Christmas and Thanksgiving dinners were the only meals provided by Pine Street. Ms. O'Halloran and her friends from St. Cecilia's began bringing their special date nut bread and sandwiches to the guests every Monday. Through the years, she has involved fellow parishioners and her students from Marian High School in her commitment to feeding the guests of the inn. Ms. O'Halloran brought this same spirit of hard work and cooperation to the Board of Directors in 1984 and served as board chair from 1998 until 2002. She would like to see an emphasis on permanent housing, with more advocacy for public education. The inn has been an integral part of Ms. O'Halloran's life for over thirty years, during which time she has witnessed the care, respect and compassion at the inn. This has been a constant inspiration to her. |

Fred A. Seigel
Fred A. Seigel serves as president and chief operating officer of Beacon Capital Partners, a Boston-based real estate development company and the Manager. Prior to joining Beacon Capital, Fred was managing director of Latona Associates, Inc., a private merchant bank. On behalf of Latona Associates, he also served as chief operating officer for a leading procurement and supply chain management company. Prior to joining Latona Associates, Fred spent six years as president and director of Energy Capital Partners, which specializes in financing energy projects throughout the United States. |

Susan Siebert
Susan Siebert lends her energy and expertise to a number of causes, including homelessness. She is currently a law partner at Edwards & Angell, LLP, and co-chair of the firm's finance group. She is a member of the Council for the Women's Inn at Pine Street, where she helps raise critical funding for programs supporting 1,000 homeless women each year. Ms. Siebert is also a volunteer for the Boston Bar Association legal clinic for the homeless and a member of the Boston Club and the Massachusetts Women's Political Caucus. She previously served on the Board of Directors of the Greater Boston YWCA and the Atlanta YWCA and was Vice-Chair of the Georgia Women's Political Caucus. |

Margaret Stapleton
Margaret Stapleton is the recently-retired senior managing director for credit and a vice president for John Hancock Financial Services. She has been with Hancock Financial Services for 48 years, starting in the Securities Accounting section of the Bond Department, then moving on to research. She became involved with Pine Street through the food group from St. Mary's Church in Scituate over 20 years ago and joined the Council for the Women's Inn at Pine Street shortly thereafter. Ms. Stapleton also serves on the board of the Women's Educational and Industrial Union. |

Marylou Sudders
Marylou Sudders is the president of the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, a private non-profit agency that integrates mental health and physical health with social and developmental programs for children and families. She advocates strongly for the Commonwealth's children and families regarding sound public policies, excellent services and the funding necessary to maintain a safety net for our most vulnerable citizens. Previously, Ms. Sudders is a former commissioner of Mental Health for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. |

John A. Sullivan, Treasurer
In over 30 years of real estate and banking experience, John Sullivan has financed all the major property types including multifamily, retail, hotel, industrial and office. He is currently managing director at Fantini & Gorga. John was introduced to the inn during the acquisition of a Pine Street facility. He helped to make that purchase a reality by approving the required loan and has continued to advise the inn on finance and accounting matters since then. As treasurer, Mr. Sullivan chairs the board's finance committee. He credits the inn's staff for providing support, compassion and service to homeless men and women. |

Robert F. Walsh
Robert F. Walsh is president of the RF Walsh Company, which is active in real estate project management throughout Greater Boston. Current projects include new school construction in Medford, Everett, and Boston; BioSquare, a medical research park at Boston University Medical Center; and the Channel Center, a mixed-use development on Boston's Waterfront. Mr. Walsh is a member of the American Society of Real Estate Counselors, a member of the board of Pine Street Inn and chair of the Trust for City Hall Plaza. |
