Family-Friendly Fundraising

Most people who live in the United States have a home with a warm bed and enough food to eat. What about the people who have no place to go at the end of the day? 
Pine Street helps more than 1,900 homeless men and women each day to get off the streets and build a better life. We rely on support from families likes yours to help us meet these needs – whether it’s a nutritious breakfast each morning or a place they can call “home.” 
Your kindness means so much. If you and your family would like to help, here are a few ideas. Give us a call at 617.892.9184 and we can help get you started.

Help Start the Day Right

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day! Pine Street uses 80 boxes of cereal each morning. You can help by starting a cereal drive. Collect boxes of whole-grain cereal at school and work, at afterschool activities, and from friends and family. This easy activity helps us meet an enormous need!

Life’s Simple Things

Think about all of the things that you need during the day. For guests at Pine Street, simple, daily items are often hard to come by. Taking up a collection of these items is an easy way to show those in need that you care. 
The greatest need is for toiletries, new socks and new undergarments.
*Please note that we are not able to accept donations of used clothing. Pine Street Inn is partnering with St. Francis House, where clothing donations may be made. More information can be found HERE

Special Occasions that Matter 

Having others benefit from your special moment can make it even more meaningful. Instead of presents, invite family and friends to make a gift to Pine Street Inn to celebrate birthdays, graduations, Bar /Bat Mitzvahs, or other special occasions.  Your thoughtfulness will provide funding for services critical to men and women on the streets and in shelters while also raising awareness among your guests about Pine Street’s mission to end homelessness.   

A Penny Raised

A Penny Challenge is a fundraising competition to see which individual or group can collect the most change in support of a cause. (Or track other milestones instead – with funds awarded to the person or group who does the most chores or takes the most steps.) Once a winner is declared, proceeds are donated – and we all come out on top!

My Pine Street Fundraiser allows you to create a customized fundraising webpage to match your interests or event and engage your friends, family, business and community in the mission to end homelessness.
