Boston Lawyers House Project

Boston Legal Community to Raise $1 Million for Pine Street Inn

A group of 10 prominent Boston attorneys, led by four who are members of Pine Street's Board of Directors, is providing leadership within the legal community to fund the acquisition and renovation of a building to be used to move long-time homeless men and women off the streets and out of shelter. Patrick T. Jones, Esq., of Cooley Manion Jones LLP, and member of Pine Street’s Board of Directors, will lead  the effort to raise $1 million from the Boston legal community for this special housing initiative.

“This house will serve as a tangible, lasting demonstration of the legal community’s commitment to improving the lives of these individuals and to being a part of the solution to homelessness in the City of Boston,” said Jones.  “I hope every attorney who hears about this project will support Pine Street’s work.”

Pine Street’s is working to transition long-term, chronically homeless men and women – those who have been homeless literally for years – into permanent housing by increasing the accessibility and availability of permanent, stable and safe housing.  Pine Street currently supports more than 800 formerly homeless individuals in permanent housing.

To date, gifts and pledges to the Boston Lawyers House Project total almost $800,000. All firms, companies and attorneys who contribute to this project will be recognized on a plaque in the building funded through this community collaboration.
