The Food Services Training Program was developed in 1990 to provide job training in the food services industry. Nearly 70 students graduate each year. The 10-week course and internship, conducted in the Ninety Nine Restaurant food services and job training facility and divided into two training sessions of cafeteria and kitchen operations, includes classroom instruction, customer service, menu preparation, kitchen safety and food sanitation, weights and measurements, deli-style and cafeteria operations, and salad bar preparation and food production. While learning about kitchen operations, students work and bake with Pine Street's chefs and professional culinary staff to prepare 1,600 meals each day.
