Pine Street Inn

Pine Street celebrated the opening of its 27th residence, Doe House, on Saturday May 3 with a ceremony honoring Charlie and Shirley Doe and their family, who made a substantial investment in the project.

The ceremony was followed by a barbeque put on by the Woburn Ninety Nine Restaurant. Charlie Doe founded the Ninety Nine Restaurants and it employees continue his legacy of generosity, volunteering at the Inn each month to prepare and serve dinner.

Doe House is home to 19 men and women. Some have come from shelter or other institutions; others have been housed directly from the street. A resident house manager and full-time case manager provide support and connect residents with medical, mental health, and community resources.

Faith groups and Council member Cathy O’Neil and friends from Concord participated in housing-warming showers to collect home goods and accessories, and volunteers from New England Baptist Hospital added the finishing touches.
